Huntley Hotel

The Schoos redesign of the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica, California was a combination of two goals: The first was to bring a more worldly, culturally diverse mystique to this former Radisson property. The other was to remind guests of the casual beach atmosphere to be found nearby, even though the beach is actually several city blocks away. The hotel features art and furniture pieces from tribal Africa, Thailand and Java, as well as images inspired by the sea like reclaimed driftwood, silver-dipped sea fans and shell or dolphin tail chairs.  It has also won numerous awards and been featured in Architectural Digest (read reviews of the Huntley in our Press section).
